Theatre for Kids 1st - 2nd Grade
MCT Theatre Education is based on a 3-year rotating and progressive curriculum, allowing students to take yearly classes while continuing to learn new areas of theatre each year. Goals include building self-esteem, self-confidence, encouraging imagination, and learning basic and advanced theatre skills in a positive learning environment.
Based on class level and year, students will learn a variety of Theatre topics including stage direction, stage make-up, costuming, auditioning techniques, monologue and duet preparation, vocal projection, character development, Theatre etiquette, Theatre history, and much more. Classes include a year-end production to be performed at Farr Best Theatre May 9th. Auditions will be held in class in February. Classes will include rehearsals as well as lessons continuing the education process.
We also offer daytime classes - Contact the Education Coordinator, Jadzia Ajemian at MCTEducation@MainstageClassicTheatre.org to discuss tailored classes for specific ages and curriculum. A minimum student commitment is required. Great for the Homeschool community!
